Your Mission

As Head of Talent, you’ll own and drive the hiring strategy across both Improbable and our ventures. You’ll combine hands-on recruitment with leadership of our Talent Partners, ensuring the team delivers world-class hiring outcomes across multiple businesses simultaneously.

You’ll also take responsibility for the operational backbone of our talent function, from ATS reporting and data insights to scalable processes that enable growth. Working directly with founders, execs, and leaders across the venture ecosystem, you’ll be the driving force behind the talent strategies that shape our future.

Areas for impact

  • Lead talent delivery – Own and oversee recruitment for both Improbable and our ventures, ensuring we attract and secure exceptional talent across technical, creative, commercial, and leadership roles.

  • Be hands-on where it matters – Actively engage in hiring, balancing leadership with direct delivery on high-priority roles.

  • Talent team leadership – Manage and develop a small team of Talent Partners, setting clear priorities, providing coaching, and ensuring consistent delivery quality.

  • Operational ownership of ATS & reporting – Act as the system owner for our ATS (Ashby), ensuring best practice, clean data, and actionable reporting. Build and manage dashboards to track hiring health, pipeline progress, and performance KPIs.

  • Talent insights – Provide venture leaders and execs with data-driven market insights, compensation analysis, and talent strategy recommendations.

  • Design & execute bespoke services – Partner with ventures to understand their unique needs and design tailored recruitment services that add real value.

  • Champion candidate experience – Ensure consistent, best-in-class processes that make Improbable and our ventures attractive to top talent.

  • Scalable process design – Build recruitment frameworks and workflows that support ventures from inception, enabling fast yet sustainable growth.

  • Stakeholder relationships: Be the trusted partner for our Venture CEOs and Improbable leaders

What We’re Looking For

  • Recruitment expertise – Deep experience hiring across senior, specialist, and leadership-level roles in high-growth, early-stage, or multi-brand environments.

  • RPO or venture-building background – Experience in RPO, venture services, or similar multi-brand models; used to context switching and supporting multiple businesses simultaneously.

  • People leadership – Proven ability to manage, mentor, and grow a recruitment team while maintaining high delivery standards.

  • ATS expertise – Strong knowledge of ATS platforms, ideally Ashby, with proven ability to build dashboards, generate reports, and use data to drive decisions. Experience with Lever, Greenhouse, or Workable is also valued.

  • Strategic partnering – Skilled at advising founders, execs, and venture leaders on hiring priorities, workforce planning, and long-term talent strategies.

  • Operational mindset – Adept at building scalable processes, optimising workflows, and maintaining system excellence.

  • Influence & communication – Confident managing senior stakeholders, aligning priorities across ventures, and representing Improbable and our ventures to candidates persuasively.

  • Hands-on delivery – Comfortable stepping into the detail and directly managing critical hires when needed.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with metaverse, AI and web3 companies

  • Experience of working within Private Equity, VC’s and Ventures Builders

This role is available as remote, hybrid or in-office. We have a great office space in Spitalfields in London, but are equally happy if you'd prefer to work from home some, or all of the time.
