IMC is looking for Quantitative Researchers to drive the development of trading strategies and predictive models across global financial markets. As a Quantitative Researcher, you will conduct large-scale data analyses to derive statistically sound predictions of market behavior. These insights directly inform our trading decisions, with your contributions delivering tangible and highly visible impact across the organization. Beyond refining trading models, you'll play a key role in shaping IMC's research initiatives and tooling direction, ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation.

You'll join a dynamic and growing research team, working closely with traders, software engineers, and hardware developers to translate improvements into real-world trading performance. At IMC, we thrive as a team, embracing open idea-sharing and cross-disciplinary collaboration across desks, departments, and global offices.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Leverage deep learning techniques to improve prediction quality in a trading context
  • Collaborate with feature engineers and traders, to help ensure the feature set is crafted and used to maximum effect
  • Develop and improve sampling, weighting, cost, target, hyperparametersand network architecture to suit a range of problems and data presentations
  • Push the team forward, by keeping abreast of the latest developments in industry and academia
  • Mentor and grow the skills of junior colleagues by clearly and simply explaining complex concepts
  • Apply understanding of distributed computing, and how to align training hardware and approach to rapidly achieve results

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree or PhD in machine learning, statistics, or related STEM field
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative modeling or similar
  • A proven track record of developing and improving deep learning models that outperform in production is highly preferred
  • Strong programming skills and experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of the strengths & weaknesses of CNN, RNN, LSTM, and transformers
