Data Center Engineer

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Oversee the lifecycle of physical servers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components
• Perform installation, configuration, and upkeep of server and network components in ourdata
  centers
• Plan and implement efficient rack layouts, cabling schemes, and patching schedules to optimizedata
  center operations
• Diagnose hardware issues, coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements (RMA process), and ensure timely resolution
• Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate hardware inventory, and manage stock levels of IT components
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of physical infrastructure, cabling layouts, rack configurations, and associated processes
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with hardware vendors, colocation partners, and remote hands teams to ensure efficient operations
• Maintain office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems. The position requires a willingness to work outside regular business hours.

Your Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience indata
  center engineering
• Strong understanding and basic troubleshooting of server hardware, network devices, anddata
  storage systems
• Knowledge of network cabling, fiber optics, and optical transceivers
• Experience with fiber and optic testing
• Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking protocols
• CCNA certification is a plus
• Proven experience in racking, cabling, and working withdata
  center facilities management tools (power, cooling, etc.)
• Familiarity with basic scripting in Bash and Python within a Linux environment is a plus
• Strong ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing requirements
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, often with minimal supervision
• Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 pounds
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
• A valid driver’s license is required for travel between facilities
