Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

Join IEX Group as a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to design and scale data platforms that power real-time market data and analytics. You will build robust data pipelines, storage, and processing systems to support trading insights and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines, storage, and processing systems to support real-time and batch analytics.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and observability across data platforms.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices and data governance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Airflow).
• Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time streaming and financial data systems.
• Knowledge of security/compliance and data governance practices.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Location: New York; this is an on-site role with potential for hybrid arrangements. Applicants should be authorized to work in the United States.
