Overview:
Ever wondering what happens when you perform a top-up of crystals in Genshin Impact? The Global Payment team at HoYoverse provides a unified cross-border payment solution for all of our products. From connecting to various payment methods, fighting against fraudulent transactions, providing insights on revenue analysis, to meeting local government regulations & international standards, our systems cover a wide range of mission-critical functionalities.
As we continue to invest heavily in technologies and improve our core systems,
we are looking for highly talented and motivated individuals to join us as a backend engineer. In this job, you are expected to gain valuable hands-on experience on building highly-scalable distributed systems, as well as exposure to the game publishing & payment industry.This is a 3–6 month internship designed for final-year students, with the potential to be considered for a full-time graduate role upon successful completion and performance.
What You Will Do:
- Participate in the development and maintenance of our global payment systems, delivering a superb cross-platform checkout experience for users worldwide.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of our internal finance / accounting software, providing a full-lifecycle solution for our funds flow.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, product managers and business / operation teams, to ensure the timely delivery of multiple large-scale projects.
- Ensure the quality of software delivery through various methods, including unit tests, integration tests and stress tests.
- Follow best practices in software development lifecycle, such as CI/CD pipeline, data quality checks, grayscale deployment, multi-cluster environment.
- Safely store, process and transmit sensitive user data using industry-standard techniques, such as envelope encryption, HSM devices, KMS services.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science or related fields. Previous internship experience in tech / Internet company will be a plus.
- Solid understanding of CS fundamentals, such as algorithms, data structures, network, operating system, database, security, etc.
- Good understanding of web backend development concepts, such as API endpoint, microservice, etc.
- Proficient with at least one programming language. Golang is preferred but not required.
- Passionate about new technologies and always willing to learn.
- Be a strong team player, and able to communicate well in our diverse & cross-functional team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and advanced Chinese to liaise with teams and review internal documentation.
