Hospice Volunteer

📋 Description

• Assist BAYADA staff with families who have a loved one in hospice care.
• Provide companionship and friendly visits to patients.
• Engage in activities such as music, crafts, puzzles, or games.
• Offer walking companionship when safe and appropriate.
• Sit at the bedside, offering a calm, supportive presence.
• Support caregivers by providing short breaks (respite) for loved ones.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build an ongoing connection with a patient (you control your schedule)
• Reliable and responsive communication with the Volunteer Coordinator via email
• Willingness to complete administrative requirements, including timely submission of volunteer hours
• Comfort interacting with people from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to onboarding and training
