Senior Accountant

Job Description

Senior Accountant at Hootsuite (Canada) – on-site. This role supports financial reporting and accounting activities for our Canadian offices, including Ottawa, Toronto, and Waterloo, with a focus on accurate monthly close, general ledger integrity, and collaboration across the finance team.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close process and ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Maintain general ledger, perform reconciliations, and support internal controls.
• Assist with financial reporting, audits, and tax filings for Canadian entities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience; CPA is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., ERP/General Ledger software).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
