A day in the life of a CAD Engineer:
As a CAD Engineer at Hexagon US Federal, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting mission-critical Public Safety solutions. Your work will include the installation, configuration, and testing of Hexagon Public Safety products and interfaces in both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments, supporting agencies such as Police, Fire, and EMS.
You may also travel to customer sites to provide hands-on support, whether maintaining existing Hexagon systems, troubleshooting technical issues, or leading the deployment of new solutions. Every day brings a mix of technical problem-solving, collaboration with teammates, and direct engagement with customers to ensure their systems run seamlessly in 24/7 operational environments.
This job is for you if you: Are passionate about providing solutions to a variety of complex customer problems by utilizing your strengths in troubleshooting and implementations. You will apply both your technical and functional knowledge in contributing to project delivery by providing your services for a variety of clients in the Public Safety industry. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years’ experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of IT systems.Comfortable working with multiple software and hardware platforms, including servers, workstations and network equipment.Strong customer service and communication skills, with ability to support both technical and non-technical users.Experience documenting technical issues and solutions in ticketing systems and project deliverables.Experience with administering Active DirectoryWorking knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and relational database structures Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in fast-paced, mission-critical environments, including after-hours or on-call support Experience working in Public Safety (Fire, EMS, Police) environments is a plus. What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have): Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent applicable experience.CompTIA Security+ CE certification (preferred) or must be obtained with 6 months of hire date.Must be able to travel as needed to customer sites.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing as it relates to conveying technical information internally and externally. Ability to investigate problems or malfunctions and recommend solutions or corrective actions. Shares knowledge and assists others in the completion of their tasks to support team goals. Ability to keep abreast of changing software technology. Ability to work directly with customers in solving hardware/software problems. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team with little supervision and guidance.
