As a Structures Integration Lead, you will oversee the hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of structural flight hardware across first articles and production builds. You’ll guide a team of technicians through high-complexity aerospace assemblies, collaborating closely with engineering and operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety across all work. This role demands precision, technical ownership, and leadership in a fast-paced, development-heavy environment.
You’ll be responsible not only for executing and supervising high-quality builds, but also for mentoring your team, optimizing workflows, and owning the interface between the shop floor and engineering.
Responsibilities: Lead and execute structural integration activities across sub-assemblies, full vehicle sections, and fluid/electromechanical systemsInterpret engineering drawings and schematics to guide drilling, reaming, countersinking, fastener installation, and system-level integrationManage daily technician workload and priorities; act as the primary conduit between engineering and the shop floorBuild and install mechanical and light electrical sub-systems, including precision alignment, hardware torqueing, and system routingDesign and oversee the fabrication of custom tooling and fixtures for repeatable and safe operationsSupervise large lifts, rigging activities, and integrated pressurized ground operationsTroubleshoot and resolve in-situ build issues; redline drawings and provide structured feedback to engineeringImprove and enforce shop-level procedures, 5S standards, and continuous process improvementsSupport the development and documentation of early production processesFoster a strong team culture focused on safety, quality, technical growth, and accountabilityApprove timecards, manage PTO requests, and track team-level spend against project allocationsTravel as needed to support remote builds, testing, or hardware deliveries Minimum Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a high-tempo aerospace or startup environment2+ years in a leadership or technical lead role, coordinating shop floor or technician teamsProven success in transitioning flight hardware from prototype to productionDeep familiarity with structural integration practices including drilling, countersinking, fastener install, and inspectionExperience with rigging, lifts, and ground support equipment (GSE) build and operationsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; experience redlining documentation for accuracy and clarityProficiency with shop tools, safety standards, and operational best practicesComfortable managing task schedules, team deliverables, and interdepartmental coordinationStrong communication skills and ability to foster team alignment and performance Preferred Skills and Experience A&P license strongly preferredCAD/CAM familiarity and experience with digital build tracking toolsSheet metal bending and fabrication experiencePrior experience developing and integrating complex systems (fluid, mechanical, or hybrid)Ability to support offsite operations as needed Additional Information #LI-Onsite
