Head of Legal

📋 Description

• Serve as strategic legal partner to leadership on commercial/regulatory matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate customer orders, SaaS, fintech, and data licensing
• Support partnerships, corporate development, and new product launches
• Coordinate with outside regulatory counsel on evolving frameworks and compliance
• Provide guidance on commercial, regulatory, product, privacy, employment, governance
• Maintain and improve contract templates, policies, and workflows
• Support board and investor governance; prepare materials and minutes
• Manage and mentor a small legal team; coordinate with outside counsel

🎯 Requirements

• Collaborative, with excellent customer service
• Able to work quickly and independently in a fast-paced setting
• Experience drafting/negotiating SaaS, FinTech, and data licensing agreements
• Broad knowledge across regulatory, privacy, IP; practical risk solutions
• Curious and ready to dig into novel, complex business models
• J.D. from an accredited law school; active membership in good standing with a US state bar
• 5–8 years of legal experience (top firm and in-house)
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
• Experience advising regulated industries, fintech, SaaS, or technology
• New York or California Bar membership
