Head of Commercial Legal

📋 Description

• Lead and scale Notion's commercial legal function globally.
• Manage a team of commercial counsel across Americas, EMEA, APAC.
• Advise Sales, Customer Success & Marketing on complex deals and terms.
• Be a player-coach who executes on deals when needed.
• Report to the General Counsel and join Legal leadership.

🎯 Requirements

• Admitted to the California State Bar, New York State Bar, or Registered In-House Counsel, in good standing.
• 15+ years of combined experience in commercial or tech transactions in a law firm and in-house at a SaaS company.
• Experience managing commercial attorneys across multiple regions and time zones.
• Experience supporting a global sales organization with deal structures across Americas, EMEA, APAC.
• Deep expertise in enterprise SaaS transactions, data processing agreements, and AI terms.
• Executive presence and ability to influence across Sales, Finance, Product, and leadership.
• Track record building scalable legal processes, playbooks, and systems.
• Willingness to adopt AI tools and develop personal AI fluency.
• Nice to have: CIPP certification; CLM implementation experience; Notion familiarity.
