Hi, I’m Howard Gadsby, Head of UX at Hawk-Eye Innovations. We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to help shape the future of sports technology.
If you’re passionate about designing intuitive experiences, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and want to play a key role in growing a UX function inside a fast-moving, global business — this could be the role for you.
You’ll work closely with me and the wider UX team to design best-in-class software that underpins our services worldwide. Alongside hands-on design, you’ll help drive UX maturity, improve processes, and mentor others in the team.
Your day-to-day could include:
Improving DesignOps processes and ways of working with product squads and wider teams
Training, upskilling, and championing UX across product, engineering, and operations
Helping plan team workload across multiple product streams, identifying common goals and patterns
Leading regular UX team meetings and defining usability benchmarks
Planning, contributing to, and maintaining our design component library
Mentoring UX designers and researchers, while evangelising user needs across the business
On projects, you’ll be:
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team with stakeholders, product, operations, and developers
Partnering with UX researchers to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points
Navigating ambiguous problems, uncovering user requirements, and defining clear project pathways
Mapping user journeys, understanding complex workflows, and prototyping solutions
Presenting design concepts to stakeholders and gathering feedback
Running usability tests with the support of researchers
Working with developers to bring designs to life
Prioritising workload in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
Essential:
5+ years’ commercial experience in UX, product, or interaction design
A portfolio showing user-centred design for complex desktop/web apps (not just mobile)
Strong track record of navigating ambiguity and multi-faceted product conversations
Experience running usability tests and applying insights
High attention to detail in diagramming, prototyping, and presenting
Analytical mindset with problem-solving and multitasking ability
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Familiarity with Figma and usability testing tools
Understanding of front-end technologies and implementation considerations
Nice to have:
Experience in sport, broadcasting, or live event software
Knowledge of DesignOps practices and UX maturity models
Fluency in an additional language
25 days’ annual leave + 8 public holidays
Enhanced pension (5% matching)
Hybrid working (2 days in-office)
Complimentary Unmind app for mental health support
Onsite gym at Basingstoke HQ
Sony Group discounts
Annual leave per local labour law
Hybrid working (2 days in office)
Sony Group perks – discounted tickets & events
Cafeteria options (SZÉP Card, nursery/kindergarten support, MOL Bubi Pass)
Private medical, life & accident insurance + dental discounts
Seniority awards & Employee Assistance Program
“All You Can Move” pass option
