Principal Java Engineer - Football Squad

📋 Description

• Develop, optimise, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot)
• Lead technical initiatives and mentor senior engineers
• Build football data pipelines powering FIFA, Serie-A, UEFA
• Deploy and scale applications in AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB)
• Enhance observability with Datadog and monitoring
• Design event-driven architectures with Pulsar, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Java 17+ & Spring Boot
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor senior engineers
• Strong experience with AWS (or other major cloud providers)
• Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
• Experience designing and evolving microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
