Hardware Systems Engineer

📋 Description

• Drive system architecture across mechanical, electrical, and firmware; decide buy-vs-build.
• Select and qualify critical parts (motors, sensors, actuators) and tradeoffs.
• Handle light MCAD for brackets and mounts; ECAD for embedded boards.
• Build prototypes: assemble hardware, cables, boards, and wiring.
• Write drivers for peripherals and integrate into firmware and app stack.
• Own test/validation: plan, fixture, run, analyze data, drive design changes.

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of hands-on electro-mechanical or robotics hardware experience.
• Breadth in mechanical design, electronics, and embedded code; you've done all three.
• Comfortable with MCAD and ECAD to produce simple designs without specialists.
• A tinkerer at heart; you chase ambiguity to understand how systems behave.
• Background in motion control, closed-loop systems, or sensor fusion; bonus: shipped hardware to production and X-ray experience.
• Experience with X-ray systems or radiation-emitting equipment.
