Hardware Sustaining Engineer

📋 Description

• Act as a Sustaining Engineering team member in Infra::Machines::Design.
• Support server hardware, cabling, and networking hardware through its lifecycle.
• Monitor MACHINES JIRA and #machines channel; drive issues to resolution.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation with the team.
• Act as Tier 2 escalation for DCOPS and CloudOps on hardware/firmware.
• Develop and maintain standards for DigitalOcean hardware operations.

🎯 Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience operating a cloud infra at mid-tier scale or higher.
• Deep understanding of server hardware, firmware, and infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills; Python and Bash.
• Bonus: JTAG debugging, firmware troubleshooting, or wire sniffing.
• Clear communication and cross-team collaboration.
