Handshake is seeking Office Clerks and Administrative Professionals to participate in an ongoing AI research initiative—no prior AI experience required. In this program, you’ll use your professional background to evaluate AI-generated content related to office and administrative work. You’ll assess responses, provide structured feedback, and help improve how AI understands everyday administrative tasks, workflows, and communication.
This program runs year-round, with new projects opening periodically across different areas of expertise.
What You’ll Do
Work remotely and asynchronously, on your own schedule
Review and evaluate AI-generated content related to administrative and clerical work
Develop prompts and assess AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and context
Provide structured feedback to enhance AI understanding of real-world office operations
Learn new skills and help shape how AI supports office and administrative work
Details
Hours: Flexible; most participants average 5–20 hours per week
Commitment: No minimum required; work when projects are available
Placement: Based on project availability—if not immediately matched, more projects will open soon
Qualifications
You have 4+ years of professional experience performing administrative, clerical, or office support work, such as:
Operating office machines (photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers)
Answering phones, directing calls, and taking messages
Communicating with customers, employees, and others to answer questions, take orders, and address complaints
Maintaining and updating filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems manually or electronically
Compiling, sorting, and filing records of business transactions and other activities
Reviewing files and documents to obtain information and respond to requests
Handling incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Computing, recording, and proofreading data, records, or reports
Completing work schedules, managing calendars, and arranging appointments
Typing, formatting, and editing correspondence and other documents
Managing inventory and ordering supplies or services
Delivering messages or running errands as needed
Performing basic bookkeeping, counting/disbursing money, and completing banking transactions
Preparing and mailing bills, invoices, contracts, or checks
Processing business or government forms and expense reports
Preparing meeting agendas, attending meetings, and transcribing minutes
Training other staff members on office procedures or computer applications
Troubleshooting hardware/software or other office equipment issues
Monitoring and directing the work of junior clerks
You’re also:
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
Able to provide written feedback and communicate clearly
Authorized to work in the U.S. (see details below)
