📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs used by multiple teams.
• Own a primary domain within Payroll Platform, ensuring health, scalability, and evolution.
• Act as a technical partner to other teams, guiding adoption and scalable solutions.
• Author architecture and design docs, balancing near-term and long-term goals.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and observability as payroll scales.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering, backend focus.
• Experience building and scaling internal platforms, shared services, or APIs.
• Able to work independently on ambiguous problems end-to-end.
• Strong system design with performance optimization and reliability.
• Experience collaborating across teams as a technical partner in a product-focused org.
• Proficient in backend languages; Ruby strongly preferred.

• Total comp: $163k-$204k (Denver/remote); $197k-$247k (SF/NYC/Seattle).
