Position Summary

We are seeking a Staff Frontend Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of our customer-facing applications. In this role, you will set the technical vision and roadmap for our contractor-facing frontend application and have an impact beyond our team to frontend engineering across the larger organization. You will serve as both a hands-on individual contributor and trusted technical leader, mentoring engineers, and communicating best practices to ensure that we deliver high-quality software at a high velocity. This position requires a unique balance of technical expertise, architectural vision and strong communication and collaboration skills.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the technical vision and long-term roadmap for frontend development, ensuring alignment with product goals and business needs.
  • Optimize the team to perform at their very best. Identify technical debt and craft an engineering roadmap.
  • Provide technical and personal mentorship to earlier-career engineers, growing their ability to make an impact.
  • Write detailed technical specifications
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align with business objectives.
  • Review and debug code, and provide helpful coaching and feedback to other engineers
  • Qualifications

  • 8+ years of frontend engineering experience, with an expertise in React/Typescript
  • Familiarity with modern build tools (Vite) testing frameworks (Jest, RTL) and CI/CD best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and lead engineering teams.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and executive teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to augment your velocity
