Vice President Global Production Engineering - GoDaddy
GoDaddy is seeking a strategic, results-driven executive to lead worldwide production engineering, reliability, and scalability across GoDaddy's platforms, services, and products. This role owns end-to-end production stability, performance, and capacity planning and leads a globally distributed team of engineers. The VP will partner with product, security, and business leaders to drive engineering excellence and ensure availability and rapid delivery.
Role Overview
As VP Global Production Engineering you will set strategy, drive architecture decisions, and oversee operations for production systems that power GoDaddy's services around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the production engineering strategy and roadmaps to ensure reliability, performance, security, and scalable growth
- Lead, mentor, and grow a global team of production engineering, site reliability engineering, and DevOps professionals
- Oversee incident management, postmortems, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs
- Collaborate with product and platform teams to design scalable architectures, redundancies, disaster recovery plans, and capacity planning
- Establish best practices for CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and on-call readiness
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements, risk management, and data privacy standards
Qualifications
- Proven executive leadership experience in production engineering, SRE, or platform engineering
- Track record of scaling large, complex systems with high reliability and performance
- Experience leading global, cross-functional teams; strong communication and collaboration skills
- Deep knowledge of cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Strong incident response, disaster recovery, and capacity planning experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred
