Senior Security Engineer

Overview

GoDaddy is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Engineering team. This fully remote role is based in the United States. You will help design, implement, and maintain security controls across GoDaddy’s cloud and on-prem platforms, partnering with product, platform, and Incident Response teams to keep customer data safe. The role emphasizes secure software development lifecycle practices, threat modeling, automation, and continuous security improvement to support GoDaddy’s mission of empowering entrepreneurs online.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security architecture and controls across cloud (e.g., AWS/Azure) and on-prem environments.
• Lead threat modeling sessions, secure code reviews, and security testing.
• Build and maintain security monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities.
• Develop security automation for deployment pipelines and vulnerability management.
• Partner with product teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle and define secure-by-default patterns.
• Perform risk assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation activities.
• Coordinate with compliance and privacy teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers; contribute to security best practices and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional security engineering or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, network security, application security, encryption, and identity and access management (IAM).
• Hands-on experience with security tooling (SAST/DAST, SIEM, EDR) and incident response.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence across teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
