Role Overview
Glossier is seeking a Tax Director to lead global tax strategy, planning, and compliance for a fast-growing beauty brand. This remote role (USA-based) reports to the VP of Tax and the Chief Financial Officer. The Tax Director will own the company’s tax strategy, governance, and operations across all jurisdictions, drive tax planning during growth initiatives, and supervise external advisors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global tax strategy to optimize the company’s tax position and mitigate risk across jurisdictions.
- Lead tax planning, compliance, and reporting, including preparation of tax provisions under GAAP ASC 740.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation, policy development, and related risk assessments.
- Oversee tax audits, controversy management, and interaction with tax authorities; coordinate with external advisors.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Business Development on M&A due diligence and tax integration.
- Drive tax technology, data governance, and process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor BEPS updates and evolving tax regulations affecting the business.
- Mentor and develop tax team members or coordinate with external tax resources as needed.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including US and international tax.
- CPA or equivalent qualification required; JD/LL.M. with tax is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP ASC 740, tax provisions, and compliance processes.
- Experience with transfer pricing, VAT/GST (as applicable), and cross-border structuring.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in consumer brands or high-growth environments is a plus.
- Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and external advisors.
