Position Summary:

The Program Associate assists the Senior Director of Women, Children, and Family Services and TAY Director with implementation and evaluation of programs and projects. This includes administrative support, project coordination, communication tasks, and working closely with GLIDE staff to support the program’s goals. This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Director and Director with general administrative tasks and projects to support scheduling, contract compliance, budget compliance, purchasing, business correspondences, event coordination, and liaising between partners internal and external to GLIDE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule meetings for Senior Director with internal and external stakeholders and business partners
  • Assist with purchasing and delivery of supplies for programs and liaise with program staff on ongoing inventory needs
  • Maintain purchasing records and reconcile expenses for vendor payment, reimbursements, invoicing, etc. using business tools such as Concur purchases
  • Assist with event coordination for staff and/or participants as needed
  • Assist with quality assurance tasks and processes involving program data, audits, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist Senior Director with grant proposal and report writing such as editing, formatting, research, etc.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and assist in report generation or presentation creation
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • 2+ years in office support, administrative assistance, or similar clerical and customer service roles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to type 50-70 WPM.
  • Proficient with computer systems and database systems (i.e. MS Office, MS 365 Copilot, Salesforce, Concur, Litmos, etc.)
  • Experience working in a social service environment serving unhoused individuals who may be struggling with complex needs such as mental illness, drug use, trauma, community violence, etc.
  • Motivated self-starter who is willing to take direction and execute either independently or as a member of a team. Strong problem-solving skills. Exercises sound judgment.
  • Demonstrates Cultural Humility. Has the ability to work effectively across cultures. Demonstrates a commitment to learning, communicating and working respectfully with people different from themselves.

  • Work Environment:  

  • GLIDE’s buildings are in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
  • GLIDE maintains an "open door" policy to the community and its clients, who frequently enter and leave the building.
  • Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work on a computer and see details of objects at close range.  
  • Ability to hear within normal range, and communicate effectively (in person, telephone or zoom).  
  • Finger dexterity and the ability to use all standard office equipment.  
  • Sit or stand comfortably; and the ability to navigate throughout office spaces (via elevator or stairs).

    Compensation

    This is a (80% fte) 30 hour/week, Non-Exempt position

    This role is covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
