As a Data Analyst, your key area of responsibility will be analyzing well-defined sets of data using a variety of different tools to find meaningful insights and develop customer-facing products from these results. You will also conduct ongoing data validation studies on aggregate Geotab data, create/maintain data pipelines, or use statistical tools to generate data on trends, patterns, and predictions. You will need to work closely with Data professionals across multiple teams.
To be successful in this role, you will be key to providing data upon which strategic decisions are made. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how partners and customers can directly benefit from the analysis.
Identify the data visualization and reporting requirements across areas of responsibility.
Develop SQL queries and setup jobs using Google Cloud Platform against Geotab’s big data environment.
Utilize multiple programming languages to analyze vehicle data and create derivative datasets.
Assist with device troubleshooting and provide meaningful insight using BigQuery data.
Design and implement easy-to-use dashboards, reports, metrics, and monitors based on Geotab GO device and vehicle data to ensure optimal performance and effective understanding of the Geotab fleet of vehicles.
Provide assistance to the Embedded Team and support staff from a big data perspective.
Participate in meetings with Data and Analytics teams to align with best practices for the company.
Post-secondary Degree/Diploma specialization in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a Data Analyst role, working with big data, and writing in SQL.
3-5 years of experience creating high-quality dashboards and data visualizations.
Experience with data science tools (e.g. Python, Pandas, NumPy, JupyterLab).
Experience with Google BigQuery is an asset.
Strong analytical skills, high accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work as a strong team player.
