Summary of Duties: Support structuring, financial analysis and due diligence on infrastructure investment programs that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns in power, transport, water, waste and agriculture. Work on Investment Team on evaluation, structuring and execution of transactions. Evaluate potential transactions in infrastructure and energy sector during "initial deal overview" phase. Conduct detailed diligence on investment opportunities that pass "initial deal overview" phase. Prepare investment memoranda, supporting reports, and asset funding requests to be presented to Investment Committee for approval. Analyze financial information related to specific companies to determine how an organization is positioned to deliver for investors. Draft and negotiate investment term sheets, investment legal documents, and commercial contracts for company investments. Perform market research for company’s target investment sectors to yield future investments. Negotiation functions will include: ensuring financial aspects of transaction, such as investment returns, remain within target returns through course of negotiation; explaining to counterparty reasoning for proposed terms; negotiating transaction structures that reflect project finance underwriting and principles used in sustainable infrastructure investments; and collaborating on counterproposals to counterparty’s edits on such documents in a manner that progresses transaction while providing strong risk-adjusted returns. Drafting functions will include: Drafting long-form term sheets from scratch in a manner that reflects transaction terms discussed with counterparties for sustainable infrastructure investments; ensuring legal documentation aligns with executed term sheets that outline previously agreed-upon transaction parameters; working with in-house and external legal counsel to ensure financial concepts and calculations, representations and warranties for transaction are accurately represented in legal documentation; and developing financial covenants based on combination of company financial projections and sensitivity analyses to create transaction with sufficient downside protection.

Domestic travel may be required once every one-to-two months to prospective investment sites for meetings with company management or to tour prospective investment site facilities.

20-40% telecommuting available.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field and 1 year of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, Investment Banking Associate, Investment Associate, Investment Banking Analyst, Investment Analyst, or an investment banking related occupation.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience with the following:

1) evaluating, bidding into, and executing transactions with infrastructure and industrials sector participants.

2) performing investment and valuation analysis for sustainable infrastructure companies and assets.

3) showing the proforma impact of debt and equity transactions.

4) project finance underwriting.

5) use of understanding of non-recourse asset financing.

6) use of understanding of the drivers of the renewable energy and electricity grid sectors.

7) financial modeling of financial projections for projects, companies, and assets.

8) conducting sensitivity analyses.

9) performing risk assessments and due diligence specific to infrastructure assets and investments.

10) utilization of precedent transactions analysis in the private infrastructure sector.

11) analysis of financial statements, including cash flow statements, income statements, and balance sheets.

12) drafting and preparation of transaction investment memoranda for internal committees.

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $180,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
