📋 Description

• Own localization strategy and final sign-off for Japanese content
• Review and edit in-game text, UI, and VO for tone and clarity
• Develop glossaries, style guides, and policies for Japanese market
• Lead VO casting, script review, and sessions for Japanese VO
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align language decisions
• Ensure Japan branding, age-rating, and cultural compliance

🎯 Requirements

• 4–6+ years professional localization in games/tech
• Native Japanese with strong tone and nuance
• Advanced English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently on complex language projects
• Stay current with gaming and localization trends
• Strong IP knowledge and gaming enthusiast
• Knowledge of platform guidelines, naming, and branding
• Support localization manager with tasks
• Mentor junior linguists and vendors
• Familiar with CAT tools, translation memory, XLOC, JIRA, CMS
• Deep understanding of Japanese culture and audience
• VO scripting and dubbing production experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, or related field preferred
