About the Role:

Forter is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Billing Platform team.

Our Billing Platform is the backbone of every product we launch and every key deal we close. You will play a critical role in shaping the infrastructure that drives our billing processes, directly impacting Forter’s revenue and growth.

As we continue to scale and introduce new products, we’re looking for passionate engineers who are eager to take ownership of complex systems and make a significant impact.

What you'll be doing:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient systems that handle high-volume data, while collaborating with teammates and individual contributors at Forter
  • Take ownership of projects, from concept to production, ensuring the highest quality 
  • Work on data-driven initiatives that improve system performance, efficiency, and billing accuracy
  • Work with Product Managers to define features and scope, guiding technical decisions and trade-offs, to align with company goals.
  • Collaborate in an environment involving various stakeholders within the company
  • Help foster best practices and mentor team members to maintain a high standard of engineering excellence
What you'll need:
  • 7+ years of experience developing and maintaining production systems 
  • 2+ years of thorough Python experience
  • Proven track record in leading technical projects through all phases of the software development life cycle, ensuring high engineering standards from requirements to deployment and ongoing maintenance
  • Familiar with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, deployment pipelines, observability, and quality assurance (unit, integration testing)
  • Proficiency in various storage solutions such as MySQL, Snowflake, and Redis
  • Experience with AWS or other public cloud services
  • A proactive attitude and a passion for providing technical solutions that bring an immediate business impact and ensure engineering excellence

It would be cool if you have:

  • Familiarity with NoSQL data stores such as Elasticsearch 
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using industry-standard frameworks like Airflow, Kafka, Delta Lake, etc
  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
  • Previous background in the fintech industry
