Head of Deployment

Flink Robotics is a fast-paced startup backed by world-class VCs, originating from the Computational Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich. We’re building the next generation of plug-and-play robots, powered by a novel approach to autonomy. Our systems are designed to revolutionize material handling - from stacking boxes to sorting parcels and unloading goods.

We’re looking for a Head of Deployment who will take charge of scaling our deployment activities across Europe. This is a role for someone who thrives both hands-on in the field and in leading and coordinating multiple deployments as we roll out robots at customer sites. You’ll shape how our robots are brought into production environments, ensuring smooth installations, happy customers, and continuous improvements that set new standards in logistics automation.

Who you are

• Eager to join a VC-backed startup in its early growth phase and own the deployment function end-to-end.

• Experienced in logistics automation, with a proven track record of rolling out complex robotic or automation systems in production environments.

• A leader who balances hands-on problem-solving with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Clear communicator, fluent in English; German is a strong plus.

• Excited about frequent travel to customer sites across Europe (up to 50%).

• Skilled at building trust with customers and collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.

What you bring

• Hands-on experience in deploying and commissioning automation, robotics, or material-handling systems in industrial settings.

• Strong understanding of mechatronics, sensors, networking, and control systems.

• Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple deployment projects in parallel.

• Proven leadership experience: mentoring and building field/deployment teams.

• Strong diagnostic skills for both hardware and software issues, and confidence in high-pressure environments.

• Prior experience in logistics/parcel automation is a major plus.

• Familiarity with Linux and modern deployment practices is a plus.

• Driver’s license and proficiency in German or other European languages are advantages.

What you’ll do

• Lead deployments: Plan, organize, and oversee robot installations across Europe, ensuring smooth execution and customer satisfaction.

• Build and scale the team: Recruit, train, and mentor deployment engineers as we expand across markets.

• Customer interface: Act as the technical lead in the field, ensuring a smooth handover and training for customer operators.

• Feedback loop: Collect insights from deployments and feed them back into product and engineering to drive reliability and new features.

• Represent Flink: Be the face of the company at pilots, trade shows, and customer demos.

• Drive standards: Develop and refine processes, documentation, and playbooks to enable repeatable, reliable deployments.
