Flight Safety Engineer, Flight Termination System (Starship)

📋 Description

• Act as responsible engineer for Starship FTS development and per-launch deliverables.
• Define detailed system design, including schematics, budgets, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with customers and teams to define architecture and trades.
• Ensure as-built FTS meets design intent and regulatory requirements.
• Interface with internal ops, reliability teams, and FAA regulatory partners.
• Assess and communicate readiness of the FTS for flight to SpaceX/regulators.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or Physics.
• 1+ years of hardware development experience in electronic or mechanical systems.
• Experience with hardware subsystems such as RF, power, communications, sensors.
• Experience designing and certifying flight safety systems for launch vehicles.
• Experience with NX or similar CAD software.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python for test automation and analysis.
