Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

The Role

As the Director of Product Analytics  you will lead a high-impact team of analysts responsible for delivering advanced analytics, experimentation, and machine learning solutions across our Product teams. You will be a strategic thought partner to executive leadership and an influential voice in shaping product strategy, growth levers, and user engagement through rigorous data-driven insights.

In this role, you’ll oversee initiatives that range from large-scale A/B testing infrastructure and causal inference modeling, to predictive user behavior models and strategic product optimization. You'll bring deep technical expertise and people leadership, guiding the team through high-complexity, high-impact problems that sit at the intersection of business outcomes and technical innovation.

You Will:

  • Lead and scale a high-performing team of data scientists and analysts supporting product, platform, and growth initiatives.
  • Drive technical excellence in experimentation, statistical modeling, and causal inference to evaluate product impact and inform roadmap decisions.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Design to identify opportunities for user growth, engagement, and retention, applying data science to optimize funnels, features, and user experiences.
  • Own the design and evolution of experimentation platforms, metrics systems, and modeling pipelines to enable trustworthy, scalable insights.
  • Provide thought leadership on machine learning and predictive modeling use cases across lifecycle stages—activation, conversion, monetization, and churn.
  • Define and institutionalize best practices for experimentation, metric development, model governance, and productionization of analytics tools and pipelines.
  • Mentor and grow senior technical talent, cultivating a strong data science culture rooted in curiosity, impact, and collaboration.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or quantitative research, including extensive work in product and growth-focused domains.
  • 7+ years of experience leading high-performing data science teams, including managing managers and scaling organizations.
  • Proven track record of driving growth through experimentation and quantitative optimization, with hands-on expertise in Randomized Experiments and Causal Inference techniques.
  • Strong in SQL & Python, and experience with modern analytics and machine learning tooling (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Spark, MLflow, etc.).
  • Experience applying machine learning techniques (e.g., classification, time series forecasting, uplift modeling) to solve business problems at scale.
  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Applied Mathematics strongly preferred.
  • A clear, concise communicator with the ability to synthesize complex analyses into executive-level narratives and recommendations.
  • Passion for developing people and fostering a culture of technical rigor, experimentation, and high-impact delivery.
