We are seeking a hands-on and collaborative Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen our growing Cloud Security program. In this role, you will be a key contributor to securing Five9’s cloud infrastructure throughout the development lifecycle, with a focus on “shifting left”. You’ll partner closely with development, DevOps, and cloud engineering teams to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks, ensuring our products remain resilient against evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build automation, policy-as-code, and security guardrails
• Create automation for the detection of misconfigurations
• Develop automated response capabilities to cloud misconfigurations
• Create custom controls in Wiz to detect existing misconfigurations and create tickets for remediation
• Implement IAM configurations through Terraform
• Ensure all solutions are under configuration management and deployed through CI/CD pipelines

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud security
• Experience with implementing guardrails and policy-as-code
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, with GCP preferred
• Terraform and Python experience
• Experience with CI/CD deployments, preferably in GitLab
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence across teams
• Strong understanding of security principles and cloud platform hardening

Preferred Skills:

• Security certifications (CISSP, SANS certs, or similar)
• Experience with control development in Wiz
• Experience with advanced customizations in Wiz implemented through Terraform
• Background in Kubernetes security
