Financial Controller

📋 Description

• Own core finance ops: AP/AR, banking, payroll, reconciliations, VAT, intercompany.
• Build scalable systems and processes; design workflows; leverage Sage Intacct for scalable, automated finance.
• Lead UK/US month- and year-end close; deliver reports for CEO and investors.
• Strengthen financial foundations: refine chart of accounts; define policies cross-functionally.
• Manage the audit process: primary contact for external auditors; coordinate audits and maintain audit-ready docs.
• Be the accounting authority: own policies, technical judgement, and auditor relationships; CFO relies on you for accounting matters.

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent; 5-8+ years in hands-on finance (FC/Head of Accounting).
• Strong technical accounting; Big 4 trained; owns policies and close.
• Multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction experience across UK and US; VAT, US sales tax, payroll, intercompany, FX.
• End-to-end finance ownership; from outsourced to building scalable in-house function.
• ERP expertise with Sage Intacct or similar; multi-entity consolidation and controls.
• Automation-focused and systems-minded; bias toward standardisation and lean infra.
• Detail-oriented and accountable; able to operate with CFO and junior team.
