Field Officer

📋 Description

• Meet community leaders to understand boundaries, structures, and sensitivities.
• Coordinate with team to cover areas and visit every household.
• Conduct census surveys, capturing data per GiveDirectly's data protocols.
• Identify and document ineligible households fairly and clearly.
• Explain the programme clearly; ensure recipients understand rights.
• Share safety guidance on mobile money, PINs, and support access.
• Ensure at least one enrolled household member can operate a phone for transfers.

🎯 Requirements

• Diploma/degree in social sciences, development studies, or related field.
• 1-2 years in field data collection or community engagement; fresh grads welcome.
• Experience conducting household surveys or community-level data collection.
• Research experience is a plus.
• Experience in call centres or remote support, working with vulnerable populations.
• Proficiency with smartphones/tablets for data collection; SurveyCTO/ODK desirable.
• Strong verbal communication in Chichewa and English; additional languages a plus.
• High integrity and commitment to accuracy and ethics.
• Comfortable in rural/remote environments; ability to walk long distances in varying weather.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good time management; meet daily targets.
