Role Overview

Fastly is seeking a Solutions Engineer - Edge Cloud Delivery in London. This hybrid role partners with the sales team and customers to design and deploy Fastly's edge cloud delivery solutions, translate business needs into scalable architectures, and accelerate adoption of our platform.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery sessions with customers and partners
Architect and present end-to-end edge cloud delivery solutions using Fastly products
Deliver compelling technical demonstrations and proofs of concept
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to resolve integration challenges
Produce technical documentation, reference architectures, and best practices
Support pre-sales activities, respond to RFPs, and provide competitive insight
Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle

Requirements

5+ years of solutions engineering, field engineering, or pre-sales experience
Strong knowledge of CDN, edge computing, and web performance
Experience with Fastly or similar edge platforms; familiarity with VCL or equivalent scripting
Solid understanding of HTTP, TLS, caching strategies, and security fundamentals
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to work with customers in hybrid settings
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and infrastructure as code
Experience with monitoring/observability tools and incident response
