About Fable Security

AI-driven threats and human error are today’s biggest enterprise security risks. Cybercriminals don’t hack systems—they exploit people. Human errors drive 70% of security breaches, making human behavior the primary and growing attack surface. At Fable, we believe that the right tools can convert people from targets to another layer of defense.

Fable is the human risk platform that directly shapes employee behavior. Designed for simplicity and enterprise scale, our agentic platform synthesizes complex employee data, pinpoints risky behaviors, and deploys highly relevant interventions to people automatically, in real time, right where they work.

Backed by Redpoint Ventures and Greylock Partners and founded by early Abnormal Security team members, Fable is solving cybersecurity’s biggest challenge in a multi-billion-dollar market. Our team includes alumni from Meta, Twitter, Flexport, Palantir, Rippling and top-tier universities like Waterloo, Columbia, Berkeley, Purdue, CMU, Stanford, UCLA, and USC. We are experiencing explosive growth, making this a career-defining opportunity to join and shape the future of security.

The Role

As the Chief of Staff (CoS) at Fable Security, you will be the ultimate force multiplier for the CEO and the entire Executive Team. This is an operational and strategic role designed for a hyper-proactive, independent leader who can bridge the gap between executive vision and tactical execution. You will not only manage the flow of information but also own high-priority, ambiguous projects that don't neatly fit into a single department. Your success will be measured by the operational efficiency and strategic clarity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Organizational Cadence

  • Lead the planning and execution of annual and quarterly strategic goal-setting (e.g., OKRs), ensuring clear alignment and accountability across Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market (GTM) teams.

  • Manage the Executive Team and Board meeting preparation, including content development, agenda setting, and tracking follow-up actions to ensure critical decisions are implemented.

  • Serve as the key liaison for cross-functional conflict resolution, stepping in to mediate tensions and ensure resource allocation aligns with top company priorities.

2. Operational Efficiency & Automation

  • Conduct deep-dive audits on core business processes (e.g., quarterly reporting, budgeting, internal communication flows) to identify bottlenecks and areas of friction.

  • Drive process optimization and workflow automation across departments, specifically identifying and implementing tools or systems to eliminate manual reporting and data aggregation, improving data accuracy and speed.

  • Help the Head of Engineering translate complex technical trade-offs (like technical debt) into clear business impact statements for non-technical leadership and external stakeholders.

3. Independent Execution & Special Projects

  • Proactively identify, define, and execute high-impact strategic projects that lack a natural owner and require deep cross-functional coordination (e.g., entering a new market segment, designing a new organizational structure, or fixing a critical customer onboarding issue).

  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, structuring work, setting success metrics, and driving projects to completion with minimal explicit direction from the CEO.

  • Function as an internal consultant, providing objective analysis and data-driven recommendations to the leadership team on strategic issues ranging from GTM strategy to product roadmap alignment.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, corporate development, or a previous Chief of Staff role, preferably within a high-growth technology startup.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while maintaining a sharp focus on tactical execution and detail.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for technical teams, GTM partners, and the Board of Directors.

  • Proven familiarity with modern workflow tools and a track record of implementing automation to solve business problems (e.g., proficiency with integration platforms, advanced spreadsheet modeling, and business intelligence tools).

  • A reputation for building strong relationships and possessing high emotional intelligence (EQ) necessary to navigate complex organizational dynamics.

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a strong plus.

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $125-175K/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors.

Fable Security is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.
