Ethos is on a mission to bridge the human readiness gap by transforming how training is developed, consumed, and aligned with strategic business outcomes. As a well-funded Series A startup ($40M+ raised), we’re a trusted partner to 150+ enterprise customers across the U.S. military, life sciences, manufacturing, supply chain, and professional sports.

We’re expanding our engineering team to deliver a best-in-class learning platform—smarter, faster, and more optimized.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the entire product design lifecycle from conception to launch. This role is responsible for designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces that balance functionality and aesthetics across web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI-powered user experiences, systems engineering, and agile collaboration, ensuring our designs are both innovative and technically feasible.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the entire product design lifecycle from conception to launch, designing user interfaces through a user-centered design process that balances functionality and aesthetics.
  • Design intuitive user interfaces for AI-powered features, ensuring transparency, trust, and usability in AI interactions.
  • Integrate AI-driven insights and analytics into the design process to improve user experience and personalization.
  • Lead UX design initiatives within an agile team environment.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to translate system requirements and user needs into innovative UX designs.
  • Take ownership of final work deliverables and handoff to engineering.  Support engineering team through release.
  • Conduct UX research and usability testing to validate concepts and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
  • Analyze user interaction data to inform design decisions.
  • Leverage your understanding of systems engineering to ensure designs are feasible and integrate smoothly into existing systems.
  • Effectively communicate design rationales and specifications to stakeholders and team members.
  • Create user flows to understand and communicate user needs.
  • Develop robust wireframes and mockups based on user research.
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate design mockups, owning designs for several features.
  • Participate in design reviews and assist in user testing processes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a UX design system, ensuring consistency across product lines.
  • Advocate for user-centered design processes and educate others on their importance.

30/60+ Day Plan

First 30 Days: Discover & Align

  • Deep-dive into Ethos’s product ecosystem (authoring tools, analytics dashboards, learner UX) and existing design system.
  • Audit UI/UX across mobile and web for consistency and usability gaps.
  • Build relationships with the design team, PMs, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Shadow agile ceremonies, design cadence, and partner with Product leads to familiarize yourself across key workflows and initiatives.

60+ Days: Define & Design

  • Own first key features across both mobile and web, ensuring a unified and adaptive design approach.
  • Deliver high-quality UX and UI designs for multiple core product features from conception through launch.
  • Integrate AI-driven insights into user experience design, improving personalization and user trust in AI interactions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineers to validate feasibility, performance, and accessibility of designs.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and usability test plans to validate core design assumptions.
  • Lead design reviews to align on priorities across key workflows.
  • Conduct usability testing and identify pain points with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Establish or refine a consistent design system used across product lines.
  • Take ownership of final work deliverables and handoff to engineering.  Support engineering team through release.
  • Successfully conduct and apply insights from user research and usability testing to improve product usability and engagement.
  • Demonstrate leadership in UX strategy and execution within an agile environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating design workshops to refine designs and gather requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience leading design teams or acting as a task lead.
  • Experience designing for AI, data visualizations, and/or enterprise grade systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience leading design for mobile platforms.
