Senior Database Administrator

Overview

ESO is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to design, implement, monitor, and optimize ESO's database environment. The role will manage mission-critical databases, ensure data integrity and security, implement disaster recovery plans, and drive performance tuning across on-premises and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of DBA experience, strong SQL skills, and experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, along with familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and modern database tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, monitor, and optimize database solutions to support ESO's applications and services.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
• Develop and test disaster recovery and backup strategies; manage maintenance windows and incident response.
• Tune database performance, manage capacity planning, and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with software engineers, IT, and security teams to optimize data architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of database administration experience.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high-availability architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and modern DBA tooling.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
