Overview

ESO is seeking a Security Engineer to join our IT Security team in Prague, Czech Republic. You will design, implement, and maintain security controls across on‑premises and cloud environments, monitor for threats, and participate in incident response. You will help protect ESO’s information assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security architectures and controls across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments
  • Manage identity and access management (IAM) and privileged access
  • Monitor security events with SIEM tools, detect anomalies, and respond to incidents
  • Develop and maintain secure configurations for systems and applications; review IaC and code for security issues
  • Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability management
  • Implement encryption, TLS/PKI, and data protection measures
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle
  • Create and maintain security policies, procedures, and incident response playbooks
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; 3+ years of professional security experience
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid environments
  • Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security monitoring
  • Proficiency with IAM, access control, encryption, and network security fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs)
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Understanding of vulnerability management, secure coding practices, and incident response
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection practices is beneficial
