Manager, Mainframe Systems Programming - CICS

Ensono is seeking a skilled Manager for Mainframe Systems Programming with expertise in CICS to lead a team of mainframe professionals. This remote role supports operations in India.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Mainframe Systems Programmers responsible for CICS-based environments.
• Oversee daily operations, incident response, problem management, and change management for mainframe systems running on z/OS.
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization of CICS regions and related services.
• Collaborate with application owners and development teams to deliver reliable mainframe services and support releases.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, security controls, and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage staffing, performance reviews, career development, budget, and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of mainframe systems programming experience with hands-on CICS.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, MQ.
• Demonstrated leadership or people management experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work across time zones.
• Experience with remote/hybrid teams and modern DevOps practices.
