Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer (z/OS) to join our remote team. You will support client mainframe environments, ensure system availability, security and performance, and collaborate with application teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize z/OS based systems, subsystems and storage environments.
• Plan and execute IPLs, system configurations, and SMP/E based software deployment.
• Monitor performance and capacity, tune systems, and manage DASD and tape storage.
• Configure and support CICS, IMS and MQ environments; manage JES2/JES3 jobs and batch processing; handle RACF security.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, backups, and documentation of changes.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve incidents and implement modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science or related field; 5+ years of mainframe systems programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, CICS, TSO/ISPF and RACF.
• Experience with IPL, SMP/E, DASD management, SYSplex, and performance tuning.
• Excellent problem solving, communication and ability to work in a remote team environment.
