The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe System Programmer - CICS to join our remote US-based team. In this role you will maintain and optimize IBM mainframe environments running z/OS with a focus on CICS transaction processing. You will configure and support CICS regions, manage JCL, monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and collaborate with development and operations to ensure high availability and reliability for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize z/OS-based mainframe environments with emphasis on CICS
• Install, configure, and monitor CICS regions; manage JCL, TSO, SDSF; work with IBM utilities
• Monitor system performance and perform capacity planning and tuning
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement permanent fixes
• Collaborate with application development teams, DB2 administrators, and operations
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and change management
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (REXX, CLIST) where appropriate
• Document changes and adhere to security and compliance requirements
• Provide on-call support as part of rotation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mainframe systems programming with CICS
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, CICS, JCL, TSO, SDSF, and IBM utilities
• Experience with COBOL or PL/I
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and capacity planning
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, US-based team
