Engineering Team Leader

📋 Description

• Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend).
• Spend ~30% on management; participate in product development with the team.
• Lead hiring for their team; onboard new engineers.
• Manage team dynamics; bring out the best in the team.
• Provide continuous, constructive feedback; mentor direct reports' careers.
• Redesign engineering work to use autonomous agents; implement agentic workflows end-to-end.

🎯 Requirements

• Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
• Backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix or Ruby; functional programming.
• Commitment to Remote's values within the team and organization.
• Strong fundamentals; shipping secure, reliable, scalable production systems.
• Experience designing/adopting agentic/automation workflows and improving them.
• Systems thinking: define specs, plan, verify, and close the quality loop.
