Engineering Team Leader

📋 Description

• Lead a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend/frontend).
• Spend ~30% on management; contribute to product development.
• Participate in hiring for the team and help peers.
• Own onboarding of new engineers.
• Be the spokesperson for the team; manage dynamics and uplift performance.
• Provide continuous and constructive feedback.
• Grow the team; coach each direct report's career.
• Guide and coach the team.
• Redesign engineering flow to use autonomous agents as default.
• Propose and implement agentic workflows end-to-end (spec to verify).
• Build reusable agentic workflows and code primitives.
• Use verification loops to ensure quality, security and scalability.

🎯 Requirements

• Managed an engineering team of 2+ engineers.
• Extensive frontend (React, JS, ES6, Jest) or backend (Elixir/Phoenix).
• Promote Remote's values within the team and org.
• Strong engineering fundamentals; ship secure, reliable, scalable systems.
• Experience designing/adopting agentic/automation workflows.
• Systems thinker: define specs, plan, verify, and ensure quality.
• Strong communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of engineering principles and best practices.
• Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
