Engineering Manager, Runtime Fabric

📋 Description

• Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of systems engineers.
• Define long-term vision and roadmap for container runtime and storage infra.
• Extend and harden containerd and runc for GPU AI inference workloads.
• Oversee Baseten Delivery Network architecture for faster cold starts.
• Ensure end-to-end container startup performance and multi-tenant isolation.
• Champion open-source contributions with core maintainers.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience managing and growing engineering teams in systems/infrastructure.
• Deep familiarity with containerd, runc, OCI, Linux namespaces, cgroups.
• Contributions to containerd/opencontainers/gvisor or related OSS.
• Strong systems programming in Go and/or C/C++.
• Experience with distributed storage or content-addressable storage.
• Understanding of container images, storage, and delivery at scale.
