Engineering Manager, Machine Learning (Caper)

📋 Description

• Lead and grow a team of ~10 ML/AI infra engineers.
• Define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for cart perception.
• Architect scalable training, data, and inference platforms on GCP using Ray and Kubernetes.
• Deliver production-grade CV/VLM models for item detection and edge inference.
• Build the data flywheel end-to-end: instrumentation, labeling, evaluation, testing.
• Collaborate with Android, hardware, product, operations, and retailers.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building and deploying ML systems, with CV in production.
• 2+ years managing teams of 6+ ML/AI engineers.
• Hands-on DL with PyTorch; training, evaluation, and MLOps.
• Experience with ML infra on GCP (GKE, Vertex AI, BigQuery) and Ray.
• Real-time edge inference; model optimization (TensorRT/ONNX); latency monitoring.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; end-to-end CV pipelines and deployment.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field, or equivalent.
