We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-Time Event Assistant to join The Engine’s Community Operations team. This is an entry-level position, perfect for students looking to gain valuable experience in event management, customer service, and administrative tasks. As an Event Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of events while providing exceptional service to our clients and attendees.
Areas of Responsibility Customer Service: Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor, provide event information, and assist with any inquiriesFront Desk Support: Manage the event check-in process, handle guest registrations, and direct participants to the designated areasEvent Set-Up: Assist in the preparation and set-up of event spaces, including arranging seating, decorations, and equipment. Follow directions from the event lead to ensure all logistical requirements are metTechnology Support: Help with simple audiovisual setup and troubleshoot basic tech issues during eventsAdministrative Tasks: Assist with basic data entry, maintain guest lists, and support Qualities of the ideal candidate Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly attitudeReliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing tasksInterest in events and a willingness to learnComfortable with basic technologyAttention to detail and ability to follow directionsPositive attitude and a team player Schedule and Compensation Part-time position, irregular schedule determined by the needs of events Must be available to support a minimum of 4 events per monthHourly pay determined by experience, between $18-$30 per hourGuaranteed at least 3 hours of work per event shift
