📋 Description

• Identify crowdsourcing opportunities and team with reporters for community-driven investigations.
• Create and manage callouts, surveys, and crowdsourcing tools; track respondents.
• Research communities and plan compassionate engagement with sources.
• Lead service journalism opportunities, such as tools and guides.
• Review tips from newsroom tip lines; identify themes and angles.
• Build long-term relationships with community sources and local leaders.

🎯 Requirements

• At least three years of journalism experience (reporting or engagement).
• Experience reporting on injustices and holding the powerful accountable.
• Creative outreach track record (groups, newsletters, events).
• Strong listening and writing; tailor style to the occasion.
• Ability to work independently and with teams; proactive.
• Patience and organization for long-term projects; comfort with spreadsheets.
