Position Overview:

This is a mid-level position reporting to the Associate Director of IT in Endpoint’s Hosting Operations organization. The role will contribute and assist in database optimization projects along with assisting any database performance issues.

The SQL Server Database Administrator (Mid-Level) will support the management, maintenance, and optimization of SQL Server databases within Endpoint’s Information Technology organization. Reporting to the Associate Director of IT, this role will collaborate closely with other database administrators and production teams to ensure database stability, performance, and scalability. The position is suitable for someone who can independently handle database administration tasks and contribute to process improvement working as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for all projects with data tier components
  • Monitor and tune SQL queries, procedures, and views for efficiency
  • Monitor and support routine maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and alert monitoring and response
  • Collaborate with any/all departments to support database scripting, reporting, and analysis needs
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and IT best practices
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Troubleshoot common database incidents and perform root cause analysis
  • Support the implementation of database change controls and service requests
  • Assist senior DBAs in developing and improving team procedures and documentation
  • Support Jr. DBAs in their development and growth
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:

  • 3-5 years of SQL server experience required (2014+ preferred)

  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Microsoft office 365
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Process improvement and problem-solving skills
