Electric Propulsion Engineer II (Starshield)

📋 Description

• Design, analyze, test, and support electric thrusters for Starshield spacecraft
• Collaborate with manufacturing to enable high-rate, reliable production
• Design, build, operate, and troubleshoot the electric propulsion test facility
• Analyze data with numerical tools to verify hardware performance
• Lead root-cause investigations and component redesigns for reliability
• Develop and execute qualification tests for flight readiness (vibration, shock, thermal, life)

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, physics, mechanical or related engineering
• 3+ years in electric propulsion design, testing, or analysis
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Matlab
• Deep understanding of vacuum chambers, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, plasma physics
• Active Top Secret clearance is desired or ability to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role
