Consulting Architect, Search

Overview

Elastic is seeking a Consulting Architect for Search to partner with customers in designing, architecting, and delivering scalable search solutions using the Elastic Stack. In this role you will translate business needs into robust search architectures, guide implementation, and ensure successful adoption across complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagements to define search architecture, data ingestion strategies, and roadmaps.
• Design and optimize Elasticsearch clusters, indices, mappings, queries, aggregations, and ingest pipelines.
• Develop integration strategies with data sources, data pipelines, and data quality safeguards.
• Provide hands-on guidance on deploying Elastic Stack on cloud platforms or on-premises, including security and observability considerations.
• Create architecture blueprints, technical workshops, and best-practice documentation for customers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption of search solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (8+ years) in software architecture or technical consulting, with 5+ years focused on search or information retrieval.
• Strong expertise with Elasticsearch, Lucene, Query DSL, indexing strategies, mappings, ingest pipelines, and security (RBAC, TLS), plus monitoring and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker); familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Programming experience in Java/Scala, Python, or Node.js, and ability to contribute to code samples or prototypes as needed.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to engage with executive stakeholders and translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel as required and to work with customers across regions.
