Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in design, prototyping, and testing to develop custom Echo hardware devices and test equipment. The candidate will be responsible for developing custom fixtures, tools, and test systems for the development of custom Echo electronic systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and prototyping of mechanical components and assemblies including selection of appropriate materials, fasteners, and manufacturing methods (e.g., CNC machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, laser cutting)
Design custom mechanical fixtures, enclosures, jigs, and tooling for PCB testing, system validation, and in-process manufacturing testing
Develop component and assembly drawings including tolerance stack-ups and analyses
Work directly with electrical engineers and test engineers to understand testing and validation requirements
Integrate electromechanical components such as PCBs, connectors, sensors, wiring harnesses, and actuators
Develop detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and assembly documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 2 years of industry experience in engineering electro-mechanical hardware devices
Minimum 2 years of experience using Solidworks including concept development, detailed design, and corresponding assembly drawings
Experience with prototyping techniques and hands-on fabrication
Experience analyzing data from physical systems
Experience working within a quality system
Other Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Experience with test automation software
Familiarity with concepts of PCB design / experience with Altium Strong collaboration mindset
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Occasional travel to vendors (<10%)
